About Us

Tumblebees Gymnastics has 35+ years history in the Miami-Dade County Area. Tumblebees has grown to become one of the largest and most successful gymnastics schools in South Florida. Through the years, the Tumblebees organization has owned and managed seven fully-equipped gymnastics centers and up to 50 different satellite programs, organized countless summer camps, holiday and seasonal shows, managed and directed over a dozen Sanctioned USAG & AAU Competitions, including the nationally known Jr. Orange Bowl Invite, and provided instruction to nearly 50,000 boys and girls in the Miami Area. As a contributor back to the community, Tumblebees has been an active supporter of the Special Olympics organization, both as a certified training facility and a competitive host club. On September 11, 1993, Tumblebees received a proclamation from Miami-Dade County for “Tumblebees Gymnastics Day”, because of its contribution to the health and fitness of the area’s children and young adults.

Gymnastics Attire

All students must wear proper attire for gym class. Girls wear a gymnastics or dance type leotard, or bike shorts and a tight fitted tank/shirt. Long hair must be tied back and out of the face. No eye glasses, hanging earrings, bracelets or necklaces. Boys wear shorts without zippers or snaps (athletic shorts), and T-shirts. Shoes and socks can be left in the cubby holes near the entrance to the gymnasium.

You can purchase leotards and additional items from our BEE Boutique on site at any of our locations.

Make-Up Policy

You may schedule up to 2 make-ups per session for missed classes. If you are enrolled in multiple classes, you may schedule 2 make-ups for each class you are enrolled in. No more then 2 make-ups per session will be permitted. Please note, your make-up class must be scheduled within 30 days of the absence.

  • No make-ups will be scheduled during the first week of the new session.
  • Student must be currently enrolled in the program to schedule and attend a make-up class.
  • If you have not scheduled a make-up class within 30 days, the missed class is forfeited.
  • No payment adjustments can be made to a future month tuition rate for missed or absent classes.
  • Make-up classes MUST be scheduled through Tumblebees’ front desk in person, via a phone call or by email at coralgables@tbgyms.com.
  • You cannot schedule a make-up class on the website.
  • Please be advised, if you re-scheduled a missed class, then miss the scheduled make-up class, you forfeit the class you originally missed and will not be allowed to reschedule.

Teacher Absences & Combined Classes for Low Enrollment

There may be times when your child’s teacher is absent. We will always provide a substitute teacher of equal qualifications. Since we do realize that consistency is important in your child’s gymnastics experience, we will do our best to minimize these occurrences

Classes with less than 3 students enrolled may be combined with another class

Trial Classes

At our Coral Gables location, we do not offer trial classes in accordance with the City of Coral Gables Recreation Policy. However, we are happy to offer a refund after the first class if you are not completely satisfied with your experience in our program.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Coral Gables Youth Center Registration Desk and will only be approved if submitted within seven (7) days of the attended class. All other refund requests must be accompanied by a medical note to be considered.

Please note that all approved refunds will incur a $15 processing fee.

Dena Marie Karborani

Office Manager

Dena Marie Karborani is the Desk Manager at Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables, where she helps keep everything running smoothly for families, students, and staff. She feels right at home in the Coral Gables Youth Center, as it was where her professional journey first began—working as part of Club Play for the City of Coral Gables. Returning to the place that gave her her first job opportunity, Dena continues to serve the community with the same passion and dedication that started her career.

A graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Dena brings over 20 years of experience in education, customer service, and program management. She has proudly been part of the Tumblebees family for more than 15 years, supporting both the recreational and competitive programs.

Dena oversees front-desk operations, class registration, scheduling, and communication with families—all while ensuring the gym remains organized, welcoming, and efficient. Her strong management background, attention to detail, and caring nature make her a trusted resource for both parents and staff.

She also prides herself on her continued education in the management field and her active involvement with the Miami Grit Classic, which has given her a well-rounded understanding of the sport from multiple perspectives—administrative, athletic, and community-based.

Dena’s goal at Tumblebees is to combine her educational background, management experience, and love for the sport of gymnastics to help every student reach their full potential. She believes in creating an environment where each child feels supported, confident, and inspired to succeed in their athletic journey.

Ann Karborani

Assistant Office Manager

Ann Karborani joined the Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables family in 2020, bringing with her a lifetime of care, experience, and enthusiasm. After an incredible 40-year career in nursing, Ann retired in 2019, but she wasn’t ready to stop helping others. Her goal in retirement was to continue working with children, and Tumblebees became the perfect place to do just that!

Before joining Tumblebees, Ann worked for 26 years with Baptist Health System in Miami, specializing in critical care for both adults and children. During her time there, she served as a clinical nurse, educator, and nurse manager, mentoring teams of nurses and ensuring the highest standards of safety and patient care.

At Tumblebees, Ann assists with daily desk operations, helping families with registration, class inquiries, and student needs. She is also the first friendly face to step in when a child isn’t feeling well or needs a quick restroom break—always offering care and comfort with her nurturing touch.

In addition to her safety and administrative roles, Ann is the creative organizer behind all of Tumblebees’ arts and crafts activities during no-school day camps, including summer, winter, and spring break sessions. Her creativity and energy make every camp day fun, colorful, and memorable for the kids.

Ann holds her USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and is BLS certified, combining her medical expertise with her love for children. Her caring personality, organization, and dedication to safety make her an essential member of the Tumblebees team.

Jennifer Karborani

Club Owner

Jennifer Karborani has been part of the Tumblebees Gymnastics family for more than twenty years. What began as a part-time job in 2000 as an assistant coach quickly grew into a lifelong passion for helping children learn, grow, and succeed in the sport she loves. Through hard work, dedication, and a deep understanding of gymnastics, Jennifer advanced to become Head Coach, Team Manager, and now Co-Owner of Tumblebees Gymnastics.

Jennifer discovered gymnastics at the age of seven and went on to compete under USA Gymnastics through 1999. Her athletic background includes becoming an All-American Cheer Champion in 2002, serving as Co-Captain of the FIU Cheer Squad in 2006, and competing in the CrossFit Regional Games in 2012 and 2013. Her diverse experiences as both an athlete and coach have shaped her well-rounded, energetic approach to training and mentorship.

Upon graduating with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010, Jennifer went on to become Co-Owner of Tumblebees Gymnastics. In 2016, she partnered with Andrea Winston, expanding the Tumblebees name across Kendall, Jupiter, and later into Coral Gables in 2020. Together, they have built a program that not only focuses on strong technique and competitive success but also creates a warm, welcoming environment where every athlete feels like part of the family.

Jennifer became a certified USA Gymnastics Judge in 2011 and is Safety Certified under USA Gymnastics. In 2012, she introduced the TOPs program at Tumblebees, which has since helped many athletes qualify for TOPs A & B Camps, Diamond Team, and Development Invite Camps.

She is also the proud creator and director of the Miami Grit Classic, a premier gymnastics competition that brings together teams from across the world.

Jennifer’s dedication to her athletes and staff has made Tumblebees feel like a second home to everyone who walks through its doors. She believes that any success she has had in the gymnastics world has been a blessing made possible by God, who has surrounded her with the right people and positive influences throughout her journey.

Andi Winston

Co-Owner & Business Manager
Andi is the founding owner of Tumblebees since 1986. She works from behind the scenes as the administrative business manager helping to make sure our gym operations run smoothly. She partnered with Jenny in 2011 and together they expanded our facility to the grand 10+k square foot gym we have now. In 2016 they teamed up to open their second location in Jupiter, Florida. Andi always had a dream of running a gym where Olympic level athletes can strive to Bee the Best They Can Be. She is proud to have accomplished that goal and looks forward to watching several more children within South Florida flourish through our program over the next decade.

Jose Tejeda

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Jose Tejeda is one of Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables’ most respected and most energetic coaches, bringing over 40 years of coaching experience to the program. His enthusiasm, dedication, and deep understanding of the sport have made him a cornerstone of the Tumblebees coaching staff.

Originally from Cuba, Jose was a competitive gymnast for more than a decade, representing his country on the Cuban National Team. After his competitive career, he spent several years coaching in Spain before moving to the United States, where he continued to share his passion for gymnastics with athletes of all ages and levels.

Jose’s coaching style is rooted in discipline, precision, and an expert understanding of physical movement. His classes are drill-focused, emphasizing proper technique, body control, and progressive skill development. This structured approach allows students to build confidence and achieve consistent growth at every level.

A former competitive coach, Jose has led gymnasts to success both at Tumblebees and at his previous training facilities, earning team and individual titles throughout his career. His extensive experience and technical expertise continue to inspire students to reach their highest potential.

Jose’s goal is to use his lifetime of experience to help young gymnasts develop strong skills, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for the sport of gymnastics.

Nicole Pappas

Head Team Coach / Competitive Program Director

Nicole brings over 15 years of gymnastics coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the sport. She began gymnastics as a young girl in her hometown of New Jersey. In high school, she competed in All-Star Cheerleading, and it was during that time in 2010 that her coaching journey officially began. Nicole graduated from Montclair State University in 2014 with a double major in Psychology and Child Advocacy & Counseling. At just 18, she set out to build a competitive gymnastics program.She launched a successful USA Gymnastics competitive team, where she served as the head coach and program director for both the Compulsory and Xcel programs until 2021. Under her leadership, her athletes earned numerous state championships and set multiple state records.

In 2021, Nicole relocated to Florida to continue her coaching career at Tumblebees, where she now serves as the Head Coach and Program Director. Since joining the team, her Xcel athletes have achieved remarkable success including numerous Florida State and Region 8 Champions. For three consecutive years an athlete has earned a spot on the Florida State Team at Regionals. Each season, multiple athletes have earned perfect 10.00 scores. Under Nicole’s leadership, her athletes consistently rank among America’s Top 100 athletes. In 2025 Tumblebees Coral Gables was awarded for the most Xcel State Champions in the state of Florida.

Nicole is USA Gymnastics certified in Safe Sport and Safety and has undergone extensive hands-on spotting training. To Nicole, the gym is more than just a workplace, it’s a second home and a second family. Her coaching philosophy focuses on instilling a strong work ethic, discipline, and personal growth, with a positive mindset as the key to success.

Ulises Rubio

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Ulises Rubio is a longest member of the Tumblebees Gymnastics family, where he has been proudly coaching for over 25 years. With a lifelong dedication to both education and gymnastics, Ulises brings the perfect balance of structure, experience, and enthusiasm to every class he teaches.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Ulises began his athletic career as a member of the Dominican Republic National Gymnastics Team, where he trained and competed at an elite level. After concluding his competitive career, he went on to study at the National School of Physical Education in Santo Domingo, laying the foundation for his future as both a coach and an educator.

Ulises has been coaching gymnastics since 1987, sharing his passion and knowledge with athletes of all ages and skill levels. His expertise in technique, form, and progression makes him one of Tumblebees’ most experienced recreational coaches.

In addition to his gymnastics background, Ulises earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from Northeastern Illinois University and is a current school teacher in Miami-Dade County. His professional experience in the classroom gives him a unique ability to connect with students, motivate them, and foster discipline and confidence—skills that translate seamlessly into his coaching style at Tumblebees.

Ulises’s classes emphasize fundamental skill development, strength, and coordination in a supportive and engaging environment. His combined background in education and gymnastics allows him to guide each student toward their personal best, both as athletes and as individuals.

Kevin Jones

Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Kevin Jones is a Venezuelan–American gymnastics coach with over 17 years of experience in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. His journey in the sport began in Venezuela, where a small family-run gymnastics business grew into one of the country’s most respected and successful training programs. That passion soon evolved into Only for Kids Fitness Center—Venezuela’s first private gymnastics academy—which grew under his leadership into one of the nation’s most recognized programs.

Mentored by José Teherán, one of Venezuela’s most respected coaches, Kevin helped lead Only for Kids to national success—earning six consecutive national titles and becoming the first Venezuelan club to achieve Perfect 10.0 scores under USA Gymnastics standards. He later co-founded the Venezuelan Women’s Gymnastics League (LIVEGIM) and has proudly coached many talented athletes, including Sofía García, who now competes internationally for Venezuela.

Kevin’s coaching style combines discipline, creativity, and precision. Drawing from his background in martial arts, ballet, and choreography, he focuses on developing strong technique, body control, and artistic performance. He is an expert in vault, uneven bars, tumbling, and choreography, and is known for running structured, challenging practices that push athletes to reach their best.

A USA Gymnastics–certified coach with multiple advanced certifications, Kevin continues to expand his education in the sport to stay current with the latest training techniques and safety standards. His passion for continuous learning and innovation ensures that every athlete receives the highest level of coaching.

Today, as part of the Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables coaching team, Kevin continues to bring excellence and innovation to the program. He helped the gym achieve a record number of Xcel State Champions in Florida.

Sofia Bonilla

Recreational / Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Sofia Bonilla is a dedicated and enthusiastic gymnastics coach at Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables, where she combines her lifelong passion for gymnastics with her expertise in physical conditioning and athlete development.

Sofia began her gymnastics journey at just three years old, training through the age of fourteen. After her time as a gymnast, she continued in school cheerleading and dance, further developing her coordination, flexibility, and performance skills. Her love for fitness and movement later led her to become a certified personal trainer, a position she held for over three years, specializing in strength training, mobility, and injury prevention.

Sofia first joined Tumblebees Gymnastics as a recreational coach, where her dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail quickly set her apart. Within a short time, she proved herself worthy of taking on greater responsibility and now proudly leads the gym’s Pre-Team and Hot Shots programs, preparing young athletes for the competitive track through structured skill progressions and disciplined training.

Currently pursuing her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Miami Dade College, Sofia continues to build her expertise in anatomy, kinesiology, and athlete rehabilitation. Her studies directly support her coaching, allowing her to approach training with a deep understanding of body mechanics and safety.

Sofia’s coaching style is drill-focused, technical, and motivating. She emphasizes form, strength, and consistency, ensuring that every child not only develops proper skills but also the confidence to reach new goals. Her background as a personal trainer and gymnast gives her a unique perspective on conditioning and body awareness, helping her athletes build a solid foundation for long-term success.

Dedicated to her own professional growth, Sofia regularly attends gymnastics clinics and continuing education courses to stay current with the latest training techniques and athlete development strategies. Her commitment to learning, combined with her passion for coaching, makes her an invaluable member of the Tumblebees team.

Maydelin Suarez

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Maydelin Suárez Blanco brings over 26 years of gymnastics coaching experience to Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables, where her kindness, patience, and passion for teaching shine in every class she leads. A former competitive gymnast herself, Maydelin spent eight years training at the High-Performance Training Center of her home state, proudly earning bronze medals at the National Championships.

After her years as an athlete, Maydelin devoted her life to coaching, guiding gymnasts of all levels for more than two decades across Cuba, Mexico, and now the United States. In Cuba, she coached for 13 years, where she was honored multiple times as Best Coach at both the State and National levels. Many of her athletes went on to represent Cuba as part of the National Team—one of her proudest accomplishments. She later continued coaching in Mexico for eight years, helping her athletes achieve top placements in state and regional competitions.

At Tumblebees Coral Gables, Maydelin now focuses on recreational and preschool gymnastics, where her sweet, caring nature makes her a favorite among our youngest students. Her gentle encouragement and positive energy help children feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn new skills.

Maydelin is also highly skilled in refining technique for older students, helping them build strength, flexibility, and confidence to advance to higher levels. Her classes blend discipline with joy, always ensuring that learning gymnastics is both productive and fun.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Culture and Sports and is certified in massage therapy, giving her a strong foundation in body awareness and athlete care. Her mission as a coach is simple—to help every child grow not only as a gymnast but as a confident, happy individual who loves the sport.

Alexia Penate

Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Alexia Peñate is a passionate and experienced Competitive Gymnastics Coach at Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables, bringing over a decade of experience in athlete development, instruction, and program leadership. Known for her strong technical background and artistic precision—particularly in Floor Exercise—Alexia helps gymnasts perform with confidence, strength, and creativity.

Since joining Tumblebees in 2022, Alexia has become a key part of the Compulsory and Xcel programs, helping athletes refine technique and build consistency through structured, drill-focused training. Her coaching philosophy centers on discipline, motivation, and proper body mechanics, blending her deep understanding of conditioning and movement to help athletes reach their full potential.

Alexia holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science (Human Performance Track) from the University of Central Florida, an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care from Broward College, and an Associate of Arts in General Education from Valencia College. Her educational background in human performance, anatomy, and physiology gives her a well-rounded perspective on safe, effective athlete training and recovery.

Alexia’s dedication and high coaching standards continue to elevate Tumblebees Coral Gables’ competitive success. Her sharp eye for detail and ability to quickly refine routines have helped athletes deliver polished, professional performances—earning increasingly higher scores at meets and strengthening the program’s reputation for excellence.

Samantha Gouge

Recreational / Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Samantha Gouge brings a lifetime of gymnastics experience and a true passion for athlete development to Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables. With nearly 19 years as a competitive gymnast, Samantha’s background in elite-level competition gives her a deep understanding of what it takes to help athletes reach their goals—both on the floor and beyond.

Originally from Michigan, Samantha is a two-time Junior Olympic National Champion on beam and a National Champion on floor, titles that reflect her discipline, artistry, and competitive excellence. She went on to compete at the collegiate level in Acrobatics and Tumbling from 2018 to 2023, earning the title of NCAA All-American in 2023 and being named Gannon University’s Athlete of the Year that same season. She now continues her athletic journey as a high-level CrossFit athlete, bringing her competitive drive and conditioning expertise into every class she teaches.

As a coach, Samantha has guided gymnasts from the recreational level through the highest optional divisions (Level 7–10), producing Level 8, 9, and 10 regional qualifiers and helping athletes earn three NCAA college scholarships. Her well-rounded experience allows her to coach with both technical precision and genuine care, ensuring that each gymnast receives the right balance of structure, motivation, and fun.

Since joining Tumblebees Gymnastics, Samantha has worked as both a recreational and competitive team coach, where her attention to detail, positivity, and energy make her a favorite among athletes of all ages. She also shares her love for fitness as a CrossFit coach, helping students develop strength, endurance, and confidence both inside and outside the gym.

Samantha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Mental Health and Counseling from Gannon University and is currently pursuing her Master of Education at Gannon. Her educational background in psychology and mental health provides a unique foundation for her coaching, allowing her to support athletes not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Kenasia Holmes

Recreational / Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Kenasia Holmes brings a dynamic mix of athletic talent, coaching experience, and academic excellence to Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables. With over a decade of experience in cheerleading and gymnastics, Kenasia has built a career rooted in discipline, performance, and the joy of working with young athletes.

Kenasia spent 13 years as a competitive cheerleader, earning multiple national and state titles throughout her career. She is a two-time CHEERSPORT National Champion (2015 & 2016) and a proud member of a three-year undefeated state championship team (2014–2016). Her dedication to the sport continued into college, where she cheered competitively for the University of Miami from 2020 to 2023, representing the Hurricanes with pride and energy.

Alongside her cheer career, Kenasia has been a gymnast for five years and a gymnastics instructor for seven, coaching athletes from levels 1–6 and XCEL Bronze through Platinum. Her coaching style blends structure with encouragement, focusing on proper technique, consistency, and confidence-building. She takes pride in helping every athlete progress safely and joyfully through the sport.

Kenasia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, with a minor in Geological Sciences, from the University of Miami. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Professional Counseling Psychology at Florida International University, where she also serves as a Student Clinician in the MINT Anxiety Program. Her academic background in psychology and counseling gives her a compassionate, mindful approach to coaching—helping her support not just the physical development of her students, but their emotional and mental growth as well.

At Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables, Kenasia brings energy, patience, and a positive attitude to every class she teaches. Whether she’s spotting skills or cheering on her athletes, she continues to inspire young gymnasts to believe in themselves, work hard, and have fun along the way.

Haylie Amirizadeh

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Haylie Amirizadeh brings enthusiasm, dedication, and firsthand competitive experience to her role as a Recreational Coach at Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables. Originally from Miami, Florida, Haylie has been involved in gymnastics for over a decade and loves sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation of gymnasts.

Haylie began her gymnastics journey in 2013 and quickly developed into a top-level athlete, reaching Level 9/10. She was crowned State Champion on Bars in 2017 and proudly represented Team Florida at the Regional Championships in 2019. Her hard work, focus, and determination helped her become one of the standout athletes of her age group and a respected role model for her peers.

Known for her strong technique and positive energy, Haylie brings the same dedication she had as a competitor into her coaching. She encourages her athletes to believe in themselves, stay consistent, and enjoy the process of learning new skills. Her background as a high-level gymnast allows her to guide students through proper form and confidence-building with ease and understanding.

A proud graduate of the Class of 2023, Haylie continues to pursue her academic goals with the same drive she showed in the gym. She is currently studying Physical Therapy, with aspirations of becoming an Orthopedic Doctor, combining her love for sports, movement, and helping others.

Haylie’s positive attitude and genuine love for the sport make her a wonderful addition to the Tumblebees family.She strives to help every gymnast feel confident, supported, and motivated—celebrating progress just as much as achievement. Her goal is to inspire young athletes to work hard, believe in themselves, and have fun every step of the way.

Morgan Huskins

Competitive Gymnastics Coach

Morgan Huskins has been part of the gymnastics community for more than 45 years, bringing a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and passion to Tumblebees Gymnastics Coral Gables. His love for the sport began as a young gymnast, when he trained under the guidance of Steve Yocasito at one of Miami’s most prominent gymnastics clubs. During his competitive years, Morgan earned multiple state titles and proudly represented his high school gymnastics team, where he further developed his skills and discipline.

After high school, Morgan transitioned from athlete to coach, pursuing a professional career in gymnastics instruction. He spent more than a decade coaching at Octaviano’s Gymnastics in Miami, where he dedicated himself to mastering both men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics. His versatility and commitment to understanding every aspect of the sport allowed him to successfully coach at both the recreational and competitive levels before joining the Tumblebees Gymnastics family.

Today, Coach Morgan is one of Tumblebees’ most valued and respected coaches, working closely with our competitive program. He brings a wealth of technical knowledge and a deep understanding of how routines are judged and scored, helping athletes refine their skills with precision and confidence.

Known for his friendly spirit, kind nature, and steady leadership, Coach Morgan has become a beloved figure within the Tumblebees community. His dedication to excellence and passion for helping young athletes grow continue to inspire both gymnasts and fellow coaches alike.
